STYLIST FILES: Ann Taylor SS17 Preview

A large portion of my job as a Stylist and a Style Director is to know what designers, brands, etc are coming out with and although the season is getting pretty chilly and many are beginning to wrap their mind around the holiday season, I am up to my eyeballs in Resort and SS17 collections. By staying ahead, I am able to pull for my magazines in advance, prepare for my TV segments and to see what is out there. Earlier this week, I saw a cohesive collection of classics with a twist which included wide leg pants, asymmetrical pieces and fun prints via Ann Taylor. This spring/summer presentation had a tropical and nautical vibe which had vibrant prints and a number of ways that navy was elevated throughout the line.

Fashionable Fridays ~ My Foodie Must Haves

As a stylist, I am always running around on one project or another. As my time is always a it stretched, I love having healthy snacks within my grasp. My two favorites are Maple Water which is a sponsor of Athleisure Mag and is a fab water beverage that has a hint of maple (I will say that there are times that I have enjoyed a splash of gin within it). In addition, I love Sexy Pop (my personal favorite is Bangin' Cheddar but I like trying a new flavor - on humpday it was also National Popcorn Day). If you have yet to enjoy this, now is the time!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Styled by Accessory2, Stylist Gear

Many who follow me know that I am a fan of Victorinox as they have great luggage that is not only durable but has many functions. You've also seen me include their outerwear within my shoots and inclusions on DJ Mag which I became the Fashion Editor of earlier this month. As a fashion stylist and someone who travels quite a bit, I use luggage and bags for a living! For the past few months, I have enjoyed using their 22" Carry On which has taken me from a number of styling jobs, celebrities and my personal travel! In addition I also use a watch roll that I use for jewelry and watches when I am on set. Interestingly enough my Swiss Army Knife which has the logo of one of my brands is also something I carry with me for cutting tags and other items.

I just updated (thanks to the Victorinox team) my collection with 3 additional bags that will allow my work to be that much easier with 2 toiletry cases (Lexicon Parcel and Lexicon Truss Hanging Toiletry Kit that fits within (as well as my steamer) Dunant Essential Tote. I love being able to keep everything together as well as having a set as it looks more professional. This plays well with two additional bags that I already have which includes a Lombard Mini Laptop Messenger and the Voltaire Tote/Backpack Convertible Bag that can be worn 3 different ways which works when I am heading to showrooms or meetings that I don't have to carry a lot with me.

With Christmas being tomorrow, it's definitely good to know that my new year is already off to a fresh start with these must have additions that keeps my work flowing as well as fashionably on point!

Style Sundays ~ Setting the Path for 2016

This week was definitely hectic while working on one series of projects and then embarking on a new one. Even though there are a number of projects that I will announce shortly, it's always important to enjoy the moment - even in the midst of a lot going on. Above, I took some time to rest before heading outside to style a shoot with a cup of coffee (I almost never drink this), leg warmers from <a href="http://www.thelemoncollection.com target="new">Lemon Loungewear</a>, olivine boots from Pikolinos and staying hydrated with Maple Water.

Earlier this week I had my work published in Ellements Magazine for the Dec 2016 issue. Also, I had a recent spread included within Kaltblut with Brandon Keel rocking edgy style accessorized with his tattoos and Accessory2.

Mode Mondays ~ Holiday Season 2015

As we head to the middle of the final month of the year, it seems like every day is a reason to celebrate the holiday season. As our Holiday Gift Guide went live last week (continual gifting ideas will be added throughout this month), the goodies continue with the announcement for the 12 Days of Holiday Style which will run from Dec 12th - Christmas Eve. Each day, I will share one brand that you should not only know about but could win a gift or to get last minute deals when it comes to gifting loved ones, co-workers and friends. A number of these brands are those that I have styled in photoshoots/on clients or have appeared with me on TV segments as an Accessory Expert. Make sure to continue to follow me on Instagram and Twitter with the #12DaysHolidayStyle which will also run within this window. After Christmas Eve, I will continue to share must haves that you can enter to win - such as the New Year's Eve contest that you can enter now.

Thanks to my partnership with No Pay Shipping (they want you to know about getting free shipping offers on an array of major retailers) and I am giving away a $100 USD gift card to Zulily to one of my readers as the contest ends on Dec 31st at 11:59pm PST. You can enter to win by answering the question, what is your secret beauty tip AND you must follow @NoPayShipping. A winner will be selected at random but you must do both to be entered to win.

You can enter below as well as on the widget within our sidebar, whichever is easiest!

Style Sundays ~ Pantone's Color of the Year

In case you missed the memo, Pantone revealed the color of the year in a stunning announcement of two hues - Rose Quartz and Serenity. Now for those that have seen images of 2016 runway shows during New York Fashion Week, this is definitely not a surprise as these were included within a number of looks! But the fact that two colors were chosen is definitely a surprise. These pastels are in perfect harmony and every night since the announcement, I have enjoyed sunsets as you see this blend in the sky. Of course these colors will also find its way into accessories, home décor and much more!

As a stylist, I have to say that Rose Quartz is a hue I love using as it's a neutral with a great pop. On a shoot that I styled yesterday, I actually had pulled both of these colors and am pleased that one of the hues made it into the final looks! You can find out more about this shade on Pantone's Color Intelligence.

Mode Mondays ~ How To Wear Gold in Autumn

As a stylist, I am always asked about how accessories and apparel can be worn during certain events or times of the year. Check out my latest article in Vogue Italia on how gold can be worn during the Autumn. It is available in English and in Italian (this will be up shortly).

Mode Mondays ~ My Must Have Tech Needs

As you know, I am always on the go whether I'm in the midst of planning meetings, styling my client projects as well as working on additional ventures within my co-founded properties and when I am contributing articles to an array of publications. Being connected is an essential as I work with a number of people and need to not only send emails there way but documents. On top of that, it's an essential for me to be able to know as much information as I can about my daily activities. Fortunately, I have always have great tools at my disposal (as well as always working on acquiring more) thanks to being a brand ambassador to an array of technology companies such as Microsoft (Office Champions).

Earlier this summer, I updated my must haves with items that I use every day! I upgraded from my Surface Pro 2 to Surface Pro 3 (of course my eye is already on Surface Pro 4 as well as the <a href="microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Surface-Book/productID.325716000" target="new">Surface Book</a>). I love that this is the center of my operations from being able to take pictures, edit imagery and to keep every document that I create (I do quite a lot of Excel, OneNote, Sways and more) within the OneDrive that can be shared seamlessly as well as edited by others. A major win is the fact that this software works well on my MacBook as well as my Windows Phone. More importantly, the light laptop (perfect hybrid of a laptop and a tablet) with its power source (which let's you include a USB so that you can charge something else) is a must.

In addition, as a Fashion Stylist who is also an Accessory Expert, I am always about the additional items that work along with my tech. While I was in Seattle with the team, my wireless Bluetooth <a href="microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Arc-Touch-Mouse-Surface-Edition/productID.286866800" target="new">Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition</a> allows me to keep my USB on my laptop open for other items as opposed to having the additional drive open for the mouse that had to be connected in this way. Coming from the Surface Pro 2, the Type Cover is a technical wonder. When we met with one of the team members that designed this, the very fabrics that are used to keep the heat away from your legs as well as being smooth enough to allow your hands to use it - is an essential when you're spending long hours on the device.

Finally, I was very pleased to add the Microsoft Band has been an essential within my day to day. As someone who is constantly on the go, I love being able to track my fitness when I am actively exercising as well as when I am picking up and dropping off samples which becomes another workout. One of the most important pieces of information that I enjoy looking up is how much sleep I am getting. Although you go to bed at a certain time, it's interesting to see how deep of a sleep you're receiving throughout your cycle - which also helps you adopt better habits. Add in the fact that you get notifications about social networks, emails, mobile payments and more - this is a device that I truly enjoy utilizing!

Although I have talked about the above before (which I took an image of after getting it in May), it's always worth noting why it stays within my rotation and how I continue to look at Microsoft products to enhance my workflow.
