Mode Mondays ~ Red Carpet Arrivals, Grammys 2016

The Grammys is an awards show which allows you to see a number of looks whether it's simply fun, high end glamour or something in between. One of my favorite looks came from Miguel and Nazanin Mandi. Miguel performed a tribute to Michael Jackson with Off the Wall's, 'She's Out of My Life'. Earlier in the night, he hit the red carpet with his finacee wearing

Enjoy highlights from the video for those that hit the red carpet. Mode Mondays ~ Red Carpet Best Dressed, AMAs 2015

Ciara tends to stun regardless of the occasion but yesterday, she looked absolutely phenomenal when she hit the red carpet of the 2015 American Music Awards. Rocking Reem Acra gown (Fall 2015 collection), she served as the event's Social Media Correspondent (while keeping an eye on boyfriend Russell Wilson's plays as he and the Seattle Seahawks were on the field during the awards show). Although this style of dress has definitely been worn by a number of notable entertainers (including the performer herself back in 2013's AMAs), as a stylist, I love a sheer/nude beaded gown moment that showcases a sensual look while keeping everything covered properly.

Mode Mondays ~ Romona Keveza Luxe Bridal Collection, FW16

I ended the week with an amazing time at Romona Keveza's penthouse flagship location to see the Romona Keveza Luxe Bridal Collection for FW16. What I love about seeing the line is that you can tell the pieces that will hit the red carpet for a number of Awards Season shows as well as major bridal moments with celebs and personalities alike. I truly enjoy being able to be in a salon (intimate) setting where Romona herself walks you through the line talking about how it was created and what theme it falls into in terms of the girl that wears it!

It is so hard to pick favorites but here are some major standouts that left my gasping (note that I am always left feeling very breathless during her shows. I also love that my mother has attended a number of the presentations with me which is always a special moment as well.

Mode Mondays ~ Emmys Red Carpet 2015

A number of looks hit the Emmys red carpet last night. With inspirations coming from so many directions, here are some of my selections of those that caught my eye. From pops of color, jumpsuits and classics check out my favorites.

Modern Family's Julie Bowen wore Georges Chakra. A black dress with a twist with interesting straps and a fluted bottom provide the ultimate and elegance. I always believe that the jumpsuit is an essential component within your wardrobe and January Jones strutted down the red carpet in Ulyana Sergeenko. One of my favorite moments of the night came from Judith Light who appeared in a striking ensemble by Zac Posen. Finally, Lady Gaga who will appear in the upcoming American Horror Story: Hotel kept it classic with Brandon Maxwell (who just showed during NYFW).

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Tribeca Film Festival's 14th Season

The 14th season of the Tribeca Film Festival is right around the corner. If you haven't caught the lineup of movies, panels and more that are in this season's events - you must check it out. This season, I will be working a little over time between attended Bridal Fashion Week for some of my favorite designers as well as styling a producer for one of the movies premiering at Tribeca Film Festival.

.

It's such an interesting time of year in terms of dressing my clients as we're reasonably safe from a random snow storm but the weather fluctuates so much. Thankfully adding layers becomes a fun way to ensure that she will look great on the red carpet while promoting her film. More details around the corner on the film and of course images of her looks as I will work with her two days next week for the premier of Tribeca as well as for the premier of her film on the following day.

Style Sundays ~ Nile Rodgers, GRAMMYS, Nominees & Predictions

DJ Mag Nile Rodgers Styled by Kimmie Smith Accessory2

Awards Season continues with one of my favorite awards shows, The Grammys! Before heading into tonight's primetime show, major congrats goes out to Nile Rodgers who was honored earlier this week by The Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing during its eighth annual GRAMMY Week event. Nile is a 3 time GRAMMY winner and has had a commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the art and craft of recorded music. He joins an impressively honorable list of past recipients that includes: Chris Blackwell, T Bone Burnett, Tom Dowd, Ahmet and Nesuhi Ertegun, Jimmy Iovine, Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin, Al Schmitt, Jerry Wexler, and Neil Young.

Via my Co-Founded styling house, Accessory2, I had the honor of not only meeting him late last year but styling his photoshoot for the upcoming DJ Mag which is out on newsstands tomorrow here in the US (for the March 2015 issue)! For those that are in the UK this article and some of the images were included within the British version of the publication. You can read the article that was penned by, Sarah Polonsky on DJMag.com and then pic up your copy.

So now it's time for music's biggest night and, I will be tweeting beginning at 4pm EST via @AccessoryExpert (you will also see coverage on my Instagram account as well) to talk all things GRAMMYS! From 4pm - 6pm we will talk about what dresses and looks we can expect our favorites to wear as well as what we loved last year (from 5 - 6pm, you'll see me tweeting predictions with Digital Stylist Network as I speak with a number of stylists on who will wear what), we'll share our favorite looks from 6pm - 8pm and an looks that were missed will be tweeted from 8pm to the close of the show and to wrap it all up for one hour after the show we'll have final thoughts! Just like during the SAG Awards, you can continue to join in on the fun with me during Awards Season as I tweet via our Style Tweetup with fellow industry, experts and brands with the hashtag #TheEdit as well as #TheEditGRAMMYS.

Check back with this post as it will be updated during the show, with actual winners but for now this is who I predict will take home tonight's awards! It definitely is a tough one this year as this is one of the first years that I wish multiple people could win an award within the same category.

<pa lign=let>Items in bold pink are winners, Items that are in bold pink italics are winners who I predicted correctly and italicized nominees are those that I predicted but didn't win the nomination. To see all winners from this show and not just the ones that were shown during the live telecast, visit The Grammys.
